DrugInformatics provides an efficient means of assigning specific clinical training activities to students, residents or staff pharmacists. The assigned activities (e.g., evaluate data to identify the problem, determine appropriate dosage, communicate with the physician) can be based on drug therapy issues identified either by DrugInformatics or by the clinician who is providing the training.
DrugInformatics allows the training clinician to easily track the assigned activities and efficiently evaluate the performance of students, residents or staff pharmacists. Activity evaluations are profiled to promote routine feedback by the training clinician, and are mapped to competencies for documentation of credentialing (e.g., transitioning staff pharmacists to provide drug monitoring as part of a hospital’s compliance with the JCAHO patient safety goal for anticoagulation).
