DrugInformatics® AC provides an easy to use tool for tracking and managing inpatient anticoagulation services. The software provides an electronic monitoring profile with flow sheet analysis of clinical data for both warfarin and heparin (including LMWH). By accessing your pharmacy and laboratory systems, data fields in the monitoring profile are automatically populated allowing you to easily track clinical information such as dosage, INR, PTT, renal and hepatic function, and concurrent medications.

DrugInformatics ® AC provides various types of alerts including critical laboratory values, inappropriate discontinuation of heparin, and drug-drug interactions. Existing alerts can be deleted or modified to your specifications, and new alerts of your choosing can be quickly added.

The software substantially improves patient discharge communication by printing inpatient data flow sheets for distribution to practitioners who are managing outpatient therapy, and patient educational material that is designed to improve medication compliance. In addition, the software provides ongoing quality assurance and administrative reports to facilitate efforts in analyzing and improving patient care.

Electronic linkage between DrugInformatics ® AC and the outpatient DoseResponse® software provides an accurate inpatient history for warfarin management in the ambulatory environment. This type of continuity of care helps ensure reconciliation at time of patient discharge, and reduces the uncertainty associated with managing high risk medications such as warfarin.
